This is an assortment of Frequently Asked Questions that we receive around Hiride shocks. These are mostly introductory and helping drivers establish a baseline of what to expect out of HiRide. We dont get into the more advanced topics like spring rates or custom setups.

Is Sterra Fork compatible with my bike?

In the box we provide headset and adaptors to fit different frame designs. So yes, Sterra Fork is compatible with your bike in the following cases:

  • your current fork is a tapered 1-1/8", 1-1/2".
  • your current fork is a tapered 1-1/8", 1-1/4".
  • your current fork is a tapered 1-1/4", 1-1/2"
  • your current fork is straight 1-1/4", 1-1/4"

What Sterra Fork ICR is?

ICR stays for Internal Cable Routing. So, if your bike has the cables routed internally with bearing seats 1.5" top and bottom, this is the product for you.

Is it possible to tune my suspension?

You may want a comfy bike or a more performance-oriented bike. It could sound strange to you but your bike can behave either way. You just need to understand what you want during your ride and take a look at this table to understand which is the right configuration for you. Once you find your configuration please refer to this video for the shock configuration change. Alternatively, refer to HiRide service network which will take care of all these operations.

Is it possible to cut the fork steerer?

As a rigid fork, to keep the best customizability of the steerer height, is it possible to cut the steerer from the standard size. To perform the steerer cutting please refer to this video. Attention: the cut must guarantee the respect of the minimum steerer height in order to properly assemble the HiRide expander.

What do I have to do to mantain the suspension?

In order to keep your shock perfectly working during time it is recommended to:

  • Inspect and dust clean your shock every ride.
  • Perform service maintenance on the hydraulic cartridge  every 200h or yearly through HiRide service network.
  • Perform service maintenance on the sliders every 1000h through HiRide service network, if needed.

How to know the serial number / product version?

If you want to know your S/N, you need to disassemble the fork from your bike. You will find the HiRide label on the shock body with the S/N printed on it.
